The enchanting Parvati River lies along Kasol, a picturesque village of Parvati Valley, but one of Himachal Pradesh’s most populous tourist destinations. While Kasol is a village, its surroundings are full of charming destinations. Rolling down the rustic village streets, sipping a cuppa from one of its bizarre cafes and lurking in Kasol, walking on the footbridge over the Parvati River. These are many ways to appreciate the wonders of nature in a quiet way. These are some of the best places to experience like this in and around Kasol.
1. Kullu
One of the closest points on the banks of the Beas River in Kullu, which is located at a distance of just 50km from Kasol, pictured above. The picturesque hamlet with majestic mountains offers beautiful views. In Kullu, there are many places of sightseeing such as the Pandoh Dam, the Great Himalayan National Park, Chandrakhani Pass, and Tirthan Valley. On their trip to the must-visit site in Himachal Pradesh, tourists can keep themselves entertained. You can even try things like walking or even the yak safari for those who have an adventure penchant.
2. Parvati River
This river is a big attraction in Kasol and passes through the beautiful Parvati Valley. This location is magnificent due to the beaming water, pristine valleys, and pleasant scenery. If you come with your gang to Kasol, you can enjoy several fun activities – camping is one of them. If not, you can just sit down and talk to your mates forever, as nature keeps rejuvenating you.
3. Malana Village
Visit the attractive village of Malana in Kasol flanked by the magnificent mountains of Deotibba and Chandrakhani to understand the local culture and way of life. This village is an eye-catcher and you can also go to this destination to get the best out of the place. This village’s rough terrain and its distinctive culture would make a visit worthwhile. Another curious thing about this village is that Alexander the Great’s army is supposed to found it.
4. Kheer Ganga Peak
The Kheer Ganga Peak at the end of the Parvati Valley is also a popular destination in Kasol. This is one of the best trekking opportunities for you. The simplest and also the most enjoyable, the trek takes about 9 km. It finally reaches an ascent from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the mountains and even go for an immersion in the spring of hot water, which comes from the top.
5. Bhuntar Town
In Parvati Valley, in the middle of dense forests, Bhuntar has been a charming small town. This city is just a paradise, located 30 kilometers from Kasol. The paths are difficult and the roads are narrow make driving through this city an exciting experience. It is worth seeing the confluence of the Beas and Parvati Rivers (figure above). It is the place to be if you just want to chill and look at people and places.
6. Manali
Manali is one of Himachal’s most popular tourist destinations at a distance of 80 kilometers from Kasol. Here you will look at the magnificent and beautiful view of the Himalayas. You have trekking, climbing, paragliding, and ice trekking for some kind of adventure; all a tourist wants!
Manali is the location for you to see snow-covered mountains on a budget. The mountain town is white in winter and fluffy snow, and Manali is something out of a fairy tale with luxuriant springing forests in the summer months.
7. Manikaran
We spoke about crowds, but again it has to be said. Kasol is not so crowded as Manikaran and is still tucked away by its peaceful spots. But it’s still not the small hamlet it used to be. This city is a good tourist destination for any budget – from basic to luxury – with guesthouses, restaurants, residences, and camping. Manikaran certainly is busier, and if you want the fine things of life, it does not appeal to you. But Kasol’s biggest draw was always its lack of crowd for backpackers not interested in popular defects, and he no longer has the edge. We suggest walking to nearby Rashol if you want that plus the marijuana.
