What’s New On Sketch Up Pro 2021 – New Features

Sketch Up Pro

The new features of Sketchup Pro 2021 include a sleek design. In addition, there are new functions and tools for the workflow that lead to delightful designs. As on date, Sketchup Pro has evolved to become a full-fledged desktop modeler. The new features have been designed so that it is possible to create anything and everything that the human mind can imagine.

Given below are the things that are new in Sketch Pro:

New Logo

The logo of Sketchup Pro has got a brand new logo now. After almost 8 years of growth and evolution, it was finally decided that there would be a new logo, and consequently, a lot of ideas and thoughts were explored to finalize the new mark.

The focus was on something advanced but straightforward. However, it had to represent the foundation of the brand. The blue indicates a big family, while the cube was created using the new and advanced features of Sketchup. So, yes, it is possible to model a particular logo using Sketchup.

Folder Tag

Efforts are still in progress to develop a way to make it easier for users who are required to work with models involving large and complex scenes and tags. At present, it is possible to work with multiple tags (in the form of Tag Folders) to control the folders’ visibility for every scene. At the same time, folders can be made to collapse and expand, thereby making it easier to scan the tag structure and look for the tags needed by you.

For creating a tag folder, all you need to do is select the various tags of an existing model. Then, click on the ‘Add Tag’ option. It will group everything in a tag folder. Alternatively, you may click on ‘Add Tag’ and provide a name for the new folder. You can try out this feature using some of the existing models. Also, you can try to create tag hierarchies from scratch.

Tag Filter

It has come after a long time. Finally, there is an option for filtering in the tag panel of Sketchup. It has now become a lot easier to focus on a specific tag. Filtering can be used while creating the tag folders or filter down to a convention or prefix. You need to hit ‘Select All’ in the tag details menu and go for the ‘Add Tag’ folder button.

You may also use keyboard modifiers for selecting various folders or tags and accordingly set the visibility at one go. If you want to make a custom selection, the control and the shift keys can be used to select the desired folders and tags. Once the desired tag has been chosen, go for the visibility icon corresponding to any folder or tag. The full selection will reflect the change.

Component Configuration (Live)

The live components are a new set of objects that can be parametrically configured. The new feature of Sketchup Pro allows controlling these. To open a live component in Sketchup, use the live component search filter. The various parameters of the component can be altered using the Live Component Configuration function. If you want a new definition having a separate configuration, you can opt for the ‘Make Unique’ option.

On the other hand, if you want to convert a live component into a regular one, go for the ‘Detach Definition’ function. Once this is done, the definition can be either exploded or edited just like any other component. Also, it is possible to configure or insert live component workflow for the cloud.

Hope it is clear now that there are a lot of new things in the latest version of Sketchup. Therefore, it is pretty clear that you would be missing something significant if you are not Sketchup Pro.

If you want to use Sketchup Studio, it can be quite difficult to access the subscription without Trimble support and assistance. Once you buy Sketchup Studio online in India, you will find yourself being able to create the models you always wanted, and without any possible issues that might arise.
